Toys for Tots

Demand is very high this year for toys at local Toys for Tots distribution sites. Organizers in Haralson and Carroll Counties are asking for 30,000 toys this year as demand has increased by 35 percent. Unfortunately, only 2,500 have been collected so far. To donate a new, unwrapped toy for local children in-need simply drop by one of the designated drop off sites in Haralson County. They include the Haralson Gateway-Beacon office, Tallapoosa City Hall, Buchanan City Hall, Waco City Hall, Bremen City Hall, Buchanan Elementary, Buchanan 1st UMC, Haralson Middle, Dollar General and Family Dollar in Tallapoosa, West Haralson Elementary, AllState Insurance in Bremen, Dollar General in Bremen, Alliance Insurance in Bremen, Fortress Storage in Bremen, and many others. Also, volunteers are needed to sort and distribute toys for parent pick-up the week of Dec. 14-18. Help is also needed to pick up toys from collection sites around the county. Toys will be distributed at the Haralson County School System District Office on 299 Robertson St. in Tallapoosa. We will need help each day from 6 - 8:30 p.m. the week of Dec. 14-18 sorting and distributing toys. If you or anyone you work or volunteer with would like to help, please contact Kersha Cartwright at 770-574-2500, ext. 260 or at 678-378-8601.
