He was adopted at the age of 3 by his uncle, William Hindsman and Marie Hindsman. Mr. Hindsman joined the Mount Newly Baptist Church at the age of 12 and was Baptized by Reverend Dorsey. He served on the BTU instructed by Mattie McCauley. He attended Job Corps in Salt Lake City, Utah, Carroll Tech in Carrollton, Ga., Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Ga., and Floyd College in Rome, Ga.
Many accomplishments were achieved throughout his life. He was on Dean’s List, design engineer for injection moulding, constructed his house for his family, maintained a construction business for a decade, he assisted the community politically and socially and he held multiple degrees for auto cad and heating and air.
He leaves to cherish his loving and kind wife of 38 years, Carolyn Alexander Hindsman of Tallapoosa; daughter, Zondra Hindsman of Atlanta; son and daughter-in-law, Brice and Brandi Blue Hindsman of Tallapoosa; sisters, Elizabeth Collins and Linda and Tommy Moreland of Tallapoosa; brothers, Johnny and Devorah Johnson of Hartford, Conn., Stanley Johnson and Stanford Johnson, both of Tallapoosa; two grandchildren, William Rashaad Hindsman and Kierston Marie Hindsman, both of Tallapoosa; one uncle, Esker Johnson of Heflin, Ala.; six nephews; three nieces; a host of great-nephews and nieces; one great-great-nephew; and a host of cousins and friends along with a special cousin, Frances Penson.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Mt. Newly Baptist Church with the Revs. Paul Flemister and Terry Barnes officiating. Music was provided by Zondra Hindsman and The Mount Newly Choir. Brice Hindsman, Zondra Hindsman, T.J. Daniels, Montrell Moreland, Ronnie B. Daniels and Derrin Moreland served as pallbearers. Rashaad Hindsman served as honorary pallbearer. Cindy Baker and Kierston Hindsman served as flower girls.
Interment followed in Mount Newly Church Cemetery.
