Mr. Joseph “Joe” Frederick Darsey III, 27, of Newnan passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012. Mr. Darsey was born in Atlanta on Jan. 23, 1985. He was self-employed as the owner of J Quad Technologies.
Survivors include his parents, Joseph Frederick Darsey Jr. and Judy Couch Darsey of Newnan; grandmother, Parkerlyn Darsey of Tallapoosa; friend, Steven Ayers of Newnan; aunt, Teresa and Jack Jackson of Tallapoosa; uncle, Jonathan P. and Donna Darsey of Atlanta; cousin, Taylor Jackson of Tallapoosa; and a number of other aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Mr. Darsey was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Tyler Darsey; and grandparents, James Couch, Johnnie B. Couch and Joseph Frederick Darsey Sr.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at First Baptist Church of Tallapoosa with the Rev. Lawrence Robinson, Dr. Robert Lescelius and the Rev. Jason Hatchett officiating. Music was rendered by Taylor Jackson.

Lurlyne Richardson Wagner
Lurlyne Wagner of Bremen, passed away on July 12, 2012, following a brief illness. She was born on Nov. 5, 1927, in Sikeston, Mo., to the late Bert and Erma Richardson.
Mrs. Wagner was a member of the Waco Church of Christ.
She was a retired educator, who taught for 30 years. During that time, Mrs. Wagner was named STAR teacher twice, and there is a social studies award given to a graduating senior named after her. She served on the board of the Warren P. Sewell Memorial Library, was a member of the Haralson/Bremen Retired Educators Association, and a member of the Kappa Kappa Iota teachers’ sorority. Mrs. Wagner served as the state president of the Georgia Chapter of Kappa Kappa Iota during 1995-1996.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Richardson; and sisters, Ophelia Wade, Val Popham and Eula Hasskarl.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, John B. Wagner; a daughter, Laura (Don) Spaller of Brooks; a son, Richard Wagner of Bremen; grandchildren, Shawn Newman of McLean, Va., and Stacy (Brandon) Steed of Duluth; great-grandchildren, Savannah Newman, Shawn Newman Jr., Rachael Newman and Ainsley Steed; a brother, Robert Richardson of Bragg City, Mo. and brother-in-law, Jeff Wade of Kennett, Mo.
The funeral service was held at the Bremen Church of Christ at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15, with the Rev. Jeff Clark officiating. Music was furnished by the congregation under the direction of Johnny McDaniel. Randall Spake, Ricky Spake, Ernest Broughton, Kelly Staggs, Mike Ballenger and Jon Spaller served as pallbearers. Entombment followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be made to Warren P. Sewell Library (Friends of the Library), 315 Hamilton Ave., Bremen, or the Bremen Educational Foundation, 504 Laurel Street, Bremen.

Virginia Howland
Mrs. Virginia Rebecca Cartwright Howland, 91, of Jefferson, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012. Mrs. Howland was born in Tallapoosa, Ga., a daughter to the late Stuart and Virginia Wright Cartwright. Mrs. Howland worked for the Department of Defense, and was a member of the Tallapoosa Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Howland was preceded in death by her husband, Cpt. Charles C. Howland, and granddaughter, Christy Cates.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Mack Cates, Jefferson, brother and sister in law, Charles R. and Louise Cartwright, Woodstock, granddaughter and husband, Cindy and David Benton, Jefferson, nephew, Chuck Cartwright, nieces, Patricia Barwick and Ginny Lynch, two great grandchildren, Samuel and Christopher Benton.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, in the Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jefferson, Ga., with the Rev. Mike McLemore officiating.

Michael Albright
Michael Wayne Albright, 65, of Tallapoosa, died July 13, 2012. He was born Dec. 17, 1946, in Gadsden, Ala., to the late Otis and Eddie Beam Albright.
Mr. Albright was a trucker and was retired from Crete Carriers. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his step-daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Danny Payne of Bowdon; sons, Kevin and Angie Albright of Anniston, Ala., and Chris and Shana Albright of Colorado Springs, Col.; one granddaughter; and five step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 15, at the First Baptist Church of Tallapoosa with the Revs. Ronnie Brooks, Larry Howard and Jason Hatchett officiating. Music was provided by Jimmy Thrower and Bryant Hand. Pallbearers were Jimmy Thrower, Butch Treadaway, Jerry Bornham, Rhubarb Jones, Joseph Williams and Morgan Driver.
Burial followed in Hollywood Cemetery with the Haralson County Veterans Association providing military honors. The service concluded with Taps.
