Derek Dewberry
Derek “Dooby” Joe Dewberry, 21, of King Road, Bremen, died June 30, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Derek was born on July 23, 1990, in Carroll County, Ga., the son of Dennis Joe Dewberry and Karen Brannam Wright.
Survivors include his parents, Dennis Dewberry of Bremen and Karen B. Wright of Tallapoosa; sisters, Ashley Wright and Erika Dewberry, both of Bremen; paternal grandparents, Joe and Faynell Dewberry of Bremen; maternal grandparents, Sara Jo Robinson of Tallapoosa and Harry Brannam of Tucson, Ariz.; two nieces; and one nephew.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 5.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, at Waco Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Hatchett officiating. The Rev. Ricky Shadrix conducted graveside services. Scott Brooker, Josh Brooker, Josh Wheeler, Zach Hearn, Scott McCain and Mike Gilliam served pallbearers. Drew Hutchenson, Blake Brannam and Brayden Robinson served as honorary pallbearers. Burial will follow in Waco Church Cemetery.

Mary Lee Fuller
Mary Lee Fuller of Fruithurst, Ala., died June 30, 2012. She was born Sept. 6, 1936, in Cleburne County, Ala., to the late Wesley and Katron Charles Cheatwood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, D.C. Taylor, and second husband, Wilson O. Fuller.
Mrs. Fuller graduated with the class of 1955 from Heflin High School. She was a member of the Upper Cane Creek Church and enjoyed caring for elderly members and friends. She loved her cats.
Mrs. Fuller is survived by her 10 stepchildren and many cousins.
Funeral services were held at 5 p.m. July 1 at Upper Cane Creek with the Revs. Chester Pesnell and Benny Abney officiating. Music was provided by Eddie and Dawn Dingler Cook. Pallbearers were Ervin Cheatwood, Larry Cheatwood, Terry Hulsey, Billy Jo Charles, Toby Taylor, Roger Taylor and Jackie Taylor. Burial followed in Upper Cane Creek Church cemetery.

Lois Kilgore, 82, of 384 Providence Church Spur Rd., Waco, died June 27, 2012. She was born April 3, 1930, in Waco, to the late John and Ocie Capes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Kilgore; daughter, Sylvia Kilgore; sisters, Katherine Clark, Louvie Capes and Teen Capes; and brothers, Jack Capes, Jay Capes and Jabo Capes.
Mrs. Kilgore is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Belle and Michael Kelley of Muscadine, Ala., and Sherry Wallace of Waco; sons and daughter-in-law, John Kilgore of Tallapoosa, Bobby Kilgore of Waco, and Steve and Tera Kilgore of Tallapoosa; 13 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Nell Story of Dallas, Ga., and Betty Capes of Wauchula, Fla.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. June 30, at Miller Funeral Home with the Rev. James Owens officiating. Pallbearers were Zackary Wallace, Jason Wallace, Justin Kilgore, Trent Kelley, Jeffrey Luker, Charles Brimer and Brent Kelley. Thomas Armstrong
Mr. Thomas Joseph Armstrong, 46, of Buchanan, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012. Mr. Armstrong was born in Rockmart, Ga., on Aug. 1, 1965. He was the son of the late Sanford Armstrong and Annie Estell Williams Armstrong.
Survivors include two daughters, Amanda Armstrong of Buchanan and Amy Thomas of Branford, Fla.; one step-daughter, Brandy McGraw of Bell, Fla.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Sandra and Lynn Roper of Buchanan and Dee Armstrong of Decatur; two grandchildren, Chaz Dyer and Isabella Thomas; one step-grandchild, Annabella McGraw; and a number of other relatives.

Rickey Cole Sr
Mr. Rickey Mack Cole Sr., 63, of Muscadine, Ala., passed away June 27, 2012. Mr. Cole was born July 2, 1948, in Muscadein to the late Samuel McDaniel and Mildred Geneva Roberts Cole.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Coggins Cole; sisters, Jacqueline Chandler, Janice Dudley and Jerrie Williams; and brother, Lee Duane Cole.
Rickey worked as an auto mechanic and enjoyed all things outdoors.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Jerry Brown Jr. of Fruithurst, Ala., April and Thad Cheatwood of Buchanan and Neva Cole of Muscadine, Ala.; son, Rickey Cole Jr., of Muscadine; grandchildren, Jerry and Sara Brown III, Nicole and Daryl Thompson, Samantha “Sam” Cheatwood, Emily Bennett, Casey Bennett, Skylar Cheatwood, Brooke Cole and Macy Cole; great-grandchildren, Jerry Brown IV, Abigail Brown and Claire Thompson, all of Muscadine; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Allen Chandler of Tallapoosa; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Carol Cole of Waco and Sammie and Jean Cole of Tallapoosa.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. EST June 29, at Campground Methodist Church with the Rev. Kent Ponder and Dwight Brown officiating. Pallbearers were Tim Brown, Lane Clayton, Joey Williams, Stevie Cole, Craig Payne and Dennis Chandler. Honorary pallbearer was Danny Chandler.

Jeanette Hicks McDowell of Buchanan died Wednesday, June 27, 2012. She was born in Haralson County, May 6, 1944, daughter of the late Elbert Wesley Hicks and Melba Bentley Hicks.
Ms. McDowell was a retired employee of the Ball Company in Tallapoosa and was a member of Tallapoosa East Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a special friend, Marion Wright.
Survivors include children, Brian (Judy) McDowell of Waco, Angie McDowell of Temple, Mitchell (Janet) McDowell of Bremen; sisters and their spouses, Shirley (Edgar) Worthy of Tallapoosa, Edith (Fred) Hunnicutt of Chapin, S.C., Jacqueline Roberts of Tallapoosa; a brother and his spouse, David (Phyllis) Hicks of Tallapoosa; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at the Tallapoosa East Baptist Church with the Rev. W. A. Ivie, Dr. Allen Wilburn and the Rev. Thomas Ward officiating. Music was furnished by the Rev. W. A. Ivie and Kristi Vines. Steve Worthy, Phil Worthy, Jonathan Worthy, Jeff King, Mark Hunnicutt, Jason McDowell, Jeff McDowell, Chris McDowell and Rob Newman served as pallbearers. Gordy Williams
Mr. Henry Gordon “Gordy” Williams, 71, of 454 Asa Cash Rd., Bremen, Ga., passed away June 25, 2012. Mr. Williams was born on April 11, 1941, to the late Bill and Doris Benefield Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane E. Williams, and brother, Danny Williams.
Mr. Williams owned and operated Gordon Williams Siding Company in Bremen. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Charmaine and Dennis Payne of Bremen; sons and daughters-in-law, Benjamin and Lynn Williams and Grayson and Sheila Williams of Douglasville, Ga.; grandchildren, Destiny Williams, Stacey Oliver, Becca Williams, Miranda Williams, Brandon Parker, Megan Williams, Jared Williams, Savannah Payne and Dawson Williams; great-grandson, Brady Oliver; sister and brother-in-law, Naomi and Craig Jackson of Jackson, Ga.; brother and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Judy Williams of Stockbridge, Ga., and Claudine Williams of Cedar Bluff, Ala.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. June 29, at Providence Baptist Church with Dr. Mason Bush officiating. Music was provided by Pat and Harold Blackman. Pallbearers were Brandon Parker, Jared Williams, Dawson Williams, Michael Veesley, Wade Williams and Richard Williams.
