Vera Mae McClain Liner, 91, of south Toledo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, in Perrysburg. Vera was born on Jan. 22, 1919, in Carroll County, Ga., to Joseph and Eva Glenn McClain.

She and her husband, O’Neal, moved to Toledo, Ohio, where she raised her loving family. She was a kind and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; her large family was her life’s work which she nurtured with love, understanding and wonderful cooking. She will be sadly missed by all of those who knew her.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; her husband O’Neal Liner and sons, Gene and Stanley.

She is survived by her children, Lee and Shirley Liner of Maumee, Ohio, Earl and Nancy Liner of Tacoma, Wash., Joyce Edelman of Toledo, Ohio and Janice Taylor of Lambertville, Mich. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynold Road. Interment was in Springfield Township Cemetery with Pastor Daniel Defriece officiating. Memorials may take the form of a contribution to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
